The daily operations of the City are overseen by the City Manager, who is appointed by the Mayor and Council and is responsible to the Council for the proper and efficient administration of the affairs of the City.
The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer and Purchasing Agent for the City. All departments come under the direct supervision and guidance of the City Manager.
Keep a journal of the proceedings of the City Council including a Meeting Summary and Minutes of every City Council meeting;
maintain all records and documents pertaining to the affairs of the City such as codes and amendments adopted by Council, originals of all City contracts, State Ethics Commission documents; a Schedule of Fees and Charges, and carefully preserve the codes, records and documents belonging to the city while making them available to the public upon formal request (also known as an Open Records Request);
receive all applications or petitions made to the city and transmit them to the City Manager for presentation to the City Council; and
be custodian of the city seal and affix its impression on documents whenever required.
