Villa Rica Beautiful

PURPOSE

The Community Beautification Awards were developed to recognize the efforts of residents and businesses that improve the overall appearance of the community through enhancement of their property. All properties that are visible from public property in the City of Villa Rica are eligible to win a Beautification Award.

Residential Recognition Program:

Procedures:

The program will cover the growing season from May through September;
There will be a maximum of 4 Beautification Awards and 15 Certificates of Appreciation in each area;
A property which has received a Beautification Award for five consecutive years will be awarded the Beautification Landmark Award, recognizing it as continuing to excel as an asset to the City of Villa Rica;
Awards/certificates will be presented by the City Council at a special reception.

Criteria for evaluation:

Neatness and maintenance of house and other structures;
Maintenance of planting areas, landscape and all visible yard;
Absence of debris

Awards:

Beautification Landmark Award: Token of recognition;
Beautification Award: Framed Certificate of Award and yard sign;
Honorable Mention: Certificate of Appreciation

Business Recognition Program:

Procedures:

Recognition of businesses will be open to individual businesses, store fronts, condos/apartments, shopping centers, and other special categories;

Members of the Committee will recommend outstanding businesses in their individual areas;

After reviewing the list of recommendations, members will vote on the businesses to be selected for recognition;

Certificates will be presented to the winners by the City Council.

Criteria for evaluation:

Appearance and "curb appeal" of the business and property;
Landscape and the use of plantings (if applicable);
On-going maintenance;
Neatness and absence of debris.
